Publishing at Smashwords

My book is listed in the Smashwords Store already.  Uploading your book is easier if you have all the elements gathered together before you hit the “Publish” button.  It’s a good idea to work on your author profile page before you actually publish then prospective buyers will start getting to know you as soon as your book catches their eye while browsing the store.  Also work on the short description of your book ahead of time and had it ready on the side.  I made the mistake of not reading the instructions carefully. I thought it was up to 400 words.  No, it is up to 400 characters, which made the optional long description a must to include too.
When you finally hit the “Publish” button, a form will come up which prompts you to enter the title of the book, your short and long descriptions; then you select the categories it falls into (fiction, young adult, fantasy, etc.) and you must declare if it contains adult content or not.  Select the price, percentage of sampling, and attach your cover image and the book.  If you have filled out the form completely and your book is formatted correctly,  it will be uploaded and converted in multiple ebook formats in minutes and your book will be available for sale at the Smashwords Store immediately.
